The Speaker
(John 4:19 April Conference 1977)
The words he spoke
Did jolt my heart
He voiced my very fears.
He seemed to know
How I had thought
And felt for many years.
He touched upon
So many things
That long had bothered me.
So many answers
I had sought
I hoped he’d tell to me.
‘Tho good he was
He’s mortal, thus
All answers didn’t know.
For God alone
Can comfort me.
To Him, I now must go.
